Autumn Hair Inspiration

We love effortlessly gorgeous hair--especially when it truly doesn't take much time to throw together. While browsing Pinterest and a couple blogs, we've compiled a few of our favorites for the season:

Pinning up loose braids, creating a messy updo.

We love this look! {the waterfall braid} and our favorite part is that hair drying isn't necessary. Simply curl a few naturally dried pieces and braid or twist two pieces of hair to the back, pinning up at the ends. Effortless, cute, comfortable  and perfect for this season.

The classic and timeless Side Chignon can be easily achieved by pinning up low swept curls and sweeping enough hair from the opposite side in to create a side bang look {that is, if you don't already have bangs}.

The Twisted Updo creates an image of an updo that may have taken some time... but all that's really necessary is twisting two pieces from the top of your head {no braiding necessary!}, pinning the pieces at the bottom and twisting the remaining pieces into a messy bun--attaching with a hair tie.

We will always love the classic half-and-half updo--regardless of the season!

The Boho Braid, which can also be styled and braided on just one side.

A low chic ponytail.

And lastly, we will always love a classic high ponytail with bangs.

Fall Favorites

It's finally starting to feel like Fall in Southern California, so we've compiled a few of our Fall Favorites. We will always love the classic and traditional Autumn mustard and beige colored pieces. Paired with cute boots, orange colored leaves and a pumpkin spice latte and we'd be completely content over here. ;)

Happy Autumn!

Guest Blogger: Practical Outfits for Practical Places

We are excited to have guest blogger Carly, from Matt & Carly share her {comfortable!} Fall style with us. We LOVE these ideas.

...............................................................................................................................

As Summer comes to an end, I always look forward to wearing Fall styles. A Portland, Oregon native, I am used to bundling up nine months out of the year and wearing just about anything that will keep my feet dry. Now I reside in the always-sunny state of California and look forward to the handful of rainy days we get. Here are a few tips and tricks that I've learned over the years to achieve warmer and practical outfits for the Fall.

For me, saying goodbye to Summer sandals is a mourning process, but I've found it helps when saying hello to loafers as September approaches. A good pair of loafers offer you great comfort and collegiate style, perfect for zipping around campus without sore feet. Slip them on with skinnies and an oversized sweater and you'll feel so comfortable you'll think you're getting away with something.

If you want to sneak a few more days of short-wearing in before the rain comes, try wearing a pair with an unexpected winter item, like a beanie. It will give you the warmth you need while allowing a few last hoorahs with your denim cut offs.

It's no secret that wearing a maxi skirt is the best way to obtain style and comfort, but keeping them flattering is key. Have back to back lectures on campus or a long meeting scheduled at the office? Slip into the most comfortable trend since Ugg boots, belt it at the waist and add a blazer.

Don't be afraid of wearing a little leather-on-leather as rainy season approaches. Riding boots and a leather jacket will keep your feet dry and comfortable. Add a feminine piece underneath, like lace, to balance out the outfit.

I hope these ideas help as you welcome Autumn into your wardrobe!

xoxo, Carly
